What is a Turkish towel?
A Turkish towel, or peshtemal, is a thin flat-woven cotton towel from the hammam tradition. It is light, dries quickly and folds small. Ours measure 35 × 71 in (90 × 180 cm).
Are Turkish towels absorbent?
Yes. Our towels are woven from long-staple Turkish cotton, which absorbs water well. For a plush feel choose the 600 GSM terry bath sheet; for quick drying choose muslin or a peshtemal.
Muslin, waffle or terry: what is the difference?
Terry has cotton loops and feels thick and plush. Waffle has a honeycomb grid that feels textured and dries faster. Muslin is layered cotton gauze, the lightest of the three.
How do I wash Turkish cotton towels?
Most of our towels: machine wash cold with similar colors, tumble dry low or hang to dry, and skip bleach and fabric softener, which reduces absorbency. Wash the fringed mosaic towel in a mesh bag on a delicate cycle. The terry bath sheet can be washed warm at 104°F (40°C).
