Sustainability
Three promises, kept in plain language. We are a small workshop in Denizli, weaving cotton the way it has been done here for 2,500 years. We won't call ourselves green. We will tell you exactly what we do: support freshwater restoration with an annual contribution to Bonneville Environmental Foundation, test every fabric to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, work with skilled women weavers, and make things that last.
Freshwater pledge
An annual contribution to restore freshwater.
Each year VivaMaison makes a fixed contribution to Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), a Portland-based 501(c)(3), to fund freshwater restoration through Water Restoration Certificates. One certificate restores 1,000 gallons of water to a stressed river or wetland, verified by an independent third party.
Our contribution is not tied to individual orders. It is a fixed annual commitment, renewed each year.

Tested for harmful substances, every year.
Every VivaMaison textile is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which tests finished fabric for more than 1,000 harmful substances, many beyond what the law requires. Certification is renewed annually and can be checked online with our label number.
Women weavers
Woven by women, paid for skill.
Our looms are run by women who learned the craft from their mothers. They work regular hours in our own workshop and are the reason a VivaMaison towel feels the way it does. No outsourcing, no anonymous factory.
Longevity
The most sustainable towel is the one you keep.
A towel replaced every year costs more than money. Ours are woven densely from long-staple Turkish cotton, get softer with each wash, and are made to stay in your home for years. Wash cool, skip the softener, line-dry when you can.
Questions we get asked
No, and we want to be clear about that. Our support for BEF is a fixed annual contribution from the company, not a per-order donation. Buying more does not restore more water; we simply think a textile business should give back to water.
What we don't claim.
We don't say "eco-friendly", "water-neutral" or "carbon-neutral", because we can't prove it. We say what we can show: an annual contribution to BEF, an OEKO-TEX certificate you can look up, women weavers you can meet on our story page, and towels built to stay.
